Literature Text

Life is sacred, we should protect
It all, except the unborn babies we neglect.
Conception is life, and so we kill,
Destroying our future, with one little pill.
No, guns kill more, and should be
Stopped, for only then are we free.
Columbine, Aurora, Newtown too,
With no guns, what could they do?
But a life is a life, no matter the form;
Soul from the body, should not be torn.
As with my last poem, this is something I wrote for class. This poem was supposed to be modeled after one of Arthur Hugh Clough's poems, but with a modern topic. I can't remember for sure what poem I based it off of, but it was either "Epi-strauss-ium", "The Latest Decalogue", or "Dipsychus".

Just a WARNING. This is about a controversial subject--two of them, in fact. I wasn't going to submit this at first, but I worked hard on this poem and, while I don't want to cause conflict, I'm not going to hide it away. So, feel free to disagree, but I'm not going to fight with you.

Other poems of mine:
Great Enchanter
Drowned
Sleepless

As a part of the :icondalinksystem:
A Life Worth Living by ~Shinigami-Mero-Chan is so simple, but so beautiful! The balance between colors is perfect, and I just love her character design!
